Our resident cameraman, Chris Erasmus, whose expertise lies mainly in adventure filming, has recently returned from a four month motorcycle trip up the west coast of Africa all the way to Spain, which he filmed as he went. Read more about him and his exciting trip on his blog: www.chriscrossing.net
After completing his studies at the University of Pretoria, Chris Erasmus began his career at Edunet - a satellite based broadcast channel. Amongst other things, his duties included audio and video control (mixing) as well as operating studio cameras in a live environment. In his role as Technical Studio Manager Chris headed up a team of technologists responsible for the planning and installation of 50 remote VSAT up-links. For the next seven years he focused his skills on the IT industry before returning to Television.
During 2006 an unexpected opportunity arose and he became involved in the production of a successful TV series. Back behind the camera, Chris was again lucky enough to work with some of the best videographers in the industry. His first field assignment was in the form of a nature conservation program titled Wild Limited hosted by local celebrity Michelle Garforth. The series allowed him to hone his skills and he filmed approximately 20 episodes of the series as the second camera operator. Following Wild Ltd, Chris has filmed various variety and magazine programs, live performances, music videos, performance art projects, award shows and drama productions.
For small to medium projects like corporate videos and weddings the crew usually consists of first and secondary camera, sound, production manager and director and make up, but we have the expertise to put together a crew for big productions like a TV series or film.
Through years of trial, error, tears and joy we've compiled a list of contacts whose skills are of the highest caliber, who we enjoy working with on larger projects and many of whom we consider close personal friends. This close-knit team of professionals is ready and willing to work with us on your project.
We have a 36 square metre on site visual studio, perfect for indoor shoots. It boasts an infinity curve, especially suitable for stills photography. The studio is also ideal for rehearsals, auditions and screen tests, and is equipped with some basic props and costumes - just enough to get the creative juices flowing when planning a film or TV project.
Working exclusively on Apple computers, our editors can make your wildest editing job come true! From clips and inserts, to interactive screens, our studio is fully equipped to handle all requests. Big studio editing at small studio rates.
We have access to a vast bank of library music and our resident sound engineer, Simon Kruger, can clean the worst of the worst on set audio.
We're in final discussion over the production of a documentary style feature based on the footage taken by Chris Erasmus during his motorcycle trip up the west coast of Africa. Watch this space for news!
We’re also busy working on a children's DVD, targeted at small children between the ages of 0 to 24 months. Filming is completed and we’re in the editing stages, with Adriaan and Simon composing original music for the score.
Some of our most recent work includes a high quality "slide show" style HD video presentation for Oxfam GB Southern Africa, and corporate video presentations for MPower FM and Radio North West, intensively profiling the provinces of MPumalanga and North West for potential radio advertisers.
We've produced a Comedy series called Kompleks for SABC2 in 2006, and most of our key personnel were involved in producing a Comedy series called Blikskottel for kykNet in 2003.
We've produced three music videos for the revolutionary Industrial band NuL, including the highly acclaimed video for their hit single Online Superstar. We've also produced the video that won first prize worldwide in the 2007 Circles of Light fire dancing video contest.
